As promised, I am posting slides of my Business Intelligence on a Budget presentation from last week’s Texas Community College Technology Forum. I wanted to thank the people who stayed to hear me demonstrate some of our various tools and go over our lessons learned.

| The session showed how we can turn data from existing systems into actionable business intelligence, and do it without breaking the bank. I tried to walk the line between functional and technical, so I build up to the technical portion as the presentation goes along. Beginning with different ways of presenting data from high-level dashboards, moving into Open Database Connectivity connections for pivot tables, before ending with an overview of data warehousing concepts like fact tables and dimensions. |  |
